Amazon Graduate Scheme 2027: How to Apply

Amazon does not run one graduate scheme with a single closing date. The Amazon graduate scheme is a set of routes that recruit role by role: Operations roles, Pathways, software and technical engineering, AWS, business roles and internships. This guide was checked on 17 October 2026 against Amazon’s own students and graduates page, its programme pages and its UK job listings. Where a fact comes from Amazon we mark it Official. Where it comes from a third party we mark it Reported and give the source and date. Where we could not read an answer we say so.

Amazon graduate scheme at a glance

When does the Amazon graduate scheme open?

Amazon recruits throughout the year, so there is no single opening date. Amazon’s Pathways page says recruitment begins in the autumn with start dates the following year, that a dedicated recruiter guides you through a four-week process, and that there is no deadline but you should apply early (Official). The UK 2027 internships we found were posted between mid-September and mid-October 2026, the Graduate HR Partner roles on 11 to 15 September 2026, and the Graduate Partner, PXT roles between late July and late August 2026 (Official). None showed a closing date on the pages we read, so treat every advert as able to close without notice. Amazon also runs a university talent community mailing list. Amazon graduate scheme routes: Operations, Pathways, tech and AWS

Amazon’s Jobs for Grads page says its full-time roles are for people who have recently completed an undergraduate, master’s or doctorate degree, grouped as Engineering and Technical, Research and Business (Official).

Operations. Amazon’s Operations Europe page says it is hiring graduates and students for fulfilment centres across Europe. It lists three full-time roles: Area Manager (coaching associate teams and keeping safety, quality and productivity high), Shift Manager (managing a team and training) and HR Partner (employee relations, leave, performance management and recruitment). Area Manager Ines B. says on the same page, in one employee’s account: “You can’t get around our Leadership Principles.” In the UK, the live Graduate HR Partner and Graduate Partner, PXT adverts are graduate-labelled, and at least one Area Manager advert (Southampton, DSO2) accepts people who graduated within the last 24 months. Several other UK Area Manager adverts (West Thurrock, Tilbury, Darlington, Coalville) list people-management experience as a basic qualification, so they are not entry-level by default; read each advert before assuming a graduate can apply (Official).

Pathways. Pathways is “a three-year career accelerator and leadership program designed for candidates currently pursuing an MBA degree (or doctorate degree in some countries)”. Applicants need a master’s degree and at least three years of complex professional work experience, excluding internships. The programme lists the United Kingdom among its hiring countries and requires strong local-language proficiency (CEFR B2 or higher) for most countries. Progression runs from a 10 to 12 week internship to Operations Manager, leading teams of 300 to 500, then Senior Operations Manager. Amazon’s operations page also describes Pathways as aimed at graduates and transitioning military; the Pathways page is more specific, and both say three years, not five (Official).

Software and technical roles. Amazon’s SDE page names coding, programming languages, data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design as core competencies (Official). The UK listing includes a “2027 Software Dev Engineer Intern” in London, Edinburgh, Bristol and Cambridge, and the posting says successful interns may be considered for a graduate role. For new graduates, the UK listing also shows a “Software Development Engineer – 2026” role (London, Cambridge, Swansea, Edinburgh; posted 1 May 2026) for people with an expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026 or who graduated within the last 24 months, so it does not fit a 2027 finalist (Official). The technical engineering page lists hardware, business intelligence, UX, front-end and security engineering and includes the United Kingdom.

AWS. Amazon’s AWS early careers page separates internships, recent-graduate jobs and entry-level roles (1+ years’ experience). We could not confirm an open UK AWS graduate role; the UK listing does show a London “Professional Services Graduate, Associate to Consultant (A2C)” posting from 21 July 2026, which we did not confirm as an AWS role.

Internships. The internships page is for rising seniors and recent graduates and says strong performance can lead to full-time opportunities. UK 2027 listings we saw include Business Developer Intern (12 months, London), General Marketing Manager Intern, Financial Analyst Intern 2027 (London, 3 to 12 months) and Data Center Engineering Operations Technician Internship 2027 (Hemel Hempstead, 12 consecutive weeks, for final-year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering students graduating in 2027 or 2028, posted 13 October 2026).

Who can apply

Eligibility is set per posting, and the wording differs (all Official):

• Graduate HR Partner: a degree completed before the start date or graduated within the last 24 months, English at C1 level or above, and an HR or related degree and/or work experience.
• Software Development Engineer – 2026, UK: enrolled on or completed a bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems or a related STEM field, with expected graduation between October 2025 and September 2026 or graduation within the last 24 months, and experience in at least one general-purpose language.
• 2027 SDE Intern, UK: enrolled on a bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field when applying, knowledge of computer science fundamentals, and experience in at least one general-purpose language.
• Business Developer Intern: in your penultimate or final year of a business, marketing, finance or economics degree, and able to work a 12-month internship.
• Pathways: a master’s degree plus at least three years of professional experience.
• Right to work: the Financial Analyst Intern 2027 posting states you must have the right to work in the country of employment. We found no published sponsorship position on the pages we could read, and the answers in Amazon’s university FAQ are collapsed, so ask your recruiter.
• Degree classification: no posting we read states a minimum grade. On the borderline? See graduate jobs you can still get with a 2:2.

Amazon graduate scheme application process and interview stages

Amazon’s SDE page and Pathways page set out the same four steps (Official):

Reported: Glassdoor’s Graduate Area Manager interview page (accessed 17 October 2026) says the average hiring time is 34 days across 90 user-submitted interviews, and candidate reviews from Spain in May and August 2026 describe three 45-minute interviews centred on the Leadership Principles. These are not UK reports or Amazon figures. Amazon’s How We Hire page mentions “Bar Raisers” and Candid Chats, but the pages we read do not explain the Bar Raiser role.

If you need an adjustment, Amazon’s accommodations page lists the United Kingdom, and the Field Manager prep page says requests cannot be processed after you complete the assessment.

How to prepare for the Amazon interview

Amazon publishes 16 Leadership Principles, from Customer Obsession and Ownership to Dive Deep, Bias for Action, Deliver Results and Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility. Amazon says it uses them every day. It publishes no weighting for each principle, so prepare broadly.

Salary and benefits at Amazon

Amazon has not published a graduate starting salary on the pages we could read, and the UK postings we opened showed no salary figure. The SDE internship posting says interns receive “a competitive monthly salary, relocation support, and access to a range of employee benefits” (Official, no amount). Amazon’s employee-benefits page returned no content when we tried it, so we do not list benefits.

Reported: Indeed shows an average UK Area Manager salary at Amazon of £44,089 (range £22,000 to £68,000, estimated from 27 postings, last updated 15 June 2026) and £41,584 for Shift Manager (six salaries).
