BCG’s UK graduate consulting round closed on 18 October 2026, so if you are reading this in November you are either preparing for the next round or looking at the 2027 internship, which opens on 1 January 2027. This guide covers who can apply, the stages BCG describes, the dates it publishes and how to prepare, using BCG’s own UK careers page.
One honest limit up front: BCG’s UK page publishes no salary, start date or intake size, so we mark those as “Not published” instead of guessing. Everything marked “Official” comes from the BCG UK associate jobs page.

What a BCG Associate does
BCG describes Associates as part of collaborative teams that identify, develop and implement solutions to client challenges. The page lists collaborating in cross-functional teams, analysing data and forming hypotheses, presenting results to stakeholders and driving independent workstreams. Much of the work takes place at client sites. If you want the wider picture first, read our guides to what a consultant does and how management consulting firms work.
“the ability to try a variety of practice areas”
Callum McCarthy, Senior Associate at BCG London, on what he enjoyed most — BYP Network profile
That is one person’s account, shared through a diversity network profile, not a promise about every placement. Callum completed a BCG internship in 2018 and joined full-time in 2020, according to the same profile.
How to apply and the selection process
BCG describes the process as designed to help it get to know you and give you a clear picture of the job. It says all decisions are made after the deadline, so applying later in the window is not a disadvantage.
Step 1: create a profile and apply
Create a candidate profile on BCG’s talent portal with a personal email address. BCG warns you cannot change the email once chosen. List your top 2 office preferences, say whether you would relocate, upload your CV and complete the school, degree and major fields. Then apply to each office with a live opening.
Step 2: initial review and numerical assessment
After an initial review, BCG invites you to complete a short numerical assessment that forms part of your application. BCG does not publish the format on this page. Our guide to numerical reasoning tests covers the general skills.
Step 3: final CV review
If you are successful at the previous stage, BCG carries out a final CV review before inviting you to first-round interviews.
Step 4: first-round interviews
The interview stage includes case-based discussions with senior members of BCG’s London consulting team, giving you a chance to show your skills and learn about the work. BCG ran virtual sessions on case interviews and interview tips in October 2026 and lists such events each autumn.
When does the BCG graduate scheme open and close?
For the round we checked, BCG UK graduate Associate applications opened on 9 September 2026 and closed on 18 October 2026. BCG’s page does not publish dates for the next graduate round, so check the official page from late summer. The internship window is separate: applications open on 1 January 2027 and close on 24 January 2027. See all dates in our graduate scheme deadlines calendar and on the graduate scheme hub.
BCG internship in London
BCG London runs an eight-week summer internship through July and August for penultimate-year students. Interns work as integrated members of a case team and are evaluated for a full-time graduate offer at the end. The process mirrors the graduate one: online application with CV, short numerical assessment, final CV review and first-round case interviews. BCG says you are not eligible if you are due to graduate before the internship but plan more study.
How to prepare
- Read BCG’s application instructions before you start: office choices and email address cannot be undone later.
- Practise numerical reasoning under time pressure with our numerical test guide and our wider psychometric tests overview.
- Prepare for case discussions by understanding what consultants do day to day, then practise out loud with a friend.
- Build the story around your CV: BCG asks for excellence outside academics, so be ready to explain leadership and achievements.
- Use our assessment centre guide for general interview habits, and your paycheck calculator once you have an offer.
How BCG compares
If you are weighing consulting routes, compare structure and entry steps with McKinsey, Accenture and Deloitte’s assessment centre. BCG’s UK page is more specific about eligibility and the numerical assessment than about pay, so do not compare salaries without checking each firm’s own advert.
