Deloitte Assessment Centre 2027: Stages, Format and How to Prepare
The Deloitte assessment centre is the final stage of Deloitte’s UK graduate recruitment, and it comes after two online assessments. It is not a single day of exercises like some older assessment centres. This guide sets out each stage of the Deloitte process, what is official and what is only reported, and how to prepare. It sits alongside our Deloitte graduate scheme guide, which covers pay, programmes and locations.
One honest limit up front: Deloitte’s early careers pages we checked explain eligibility, opening dates and support, but they do not publish a stage-by-stage description or the length of each stage. The detail below comes from the targetjobs guide to the Deloitte process (17 April 2025), so it is marked Reported. Deloitte may have changed the format since April 2025, and your invitation email is the final word.

The five stages, one by one
Open each stage below. The first is open by default.
Stage 1: online application
You enter basic details, education and any work experience. targetjobs reports a typical requirement of a 2.1 or 104 UCAS points, with room to explain extenuating circumstances if you fall short. Choose carefully, because Deloitte accepts one application per year and only the first counts.
Evidence: Reported for grades, Official for the one-application rule.
Stage 2: immersive online assessment
A roughly 30-minute assessment that introduces life at Deloitte. It mixes situational judgement scenarios, where you rank responses to workplace dilemmas, with cognitive questions. targetjobs says there is no back button and that you get instant feedback on your strengths.
Practise with our situational judgement test guide and list of which employers use which online tests.
Stage 3: job simulation
A roughly 40-minute, video-based simulation built around a work case. Expect multiple-choice questions on client information, several answers recorded to camera, written responses such as a report summary, and an email task.
Our numerical reasoning guide and verbal reasoning guide cover the reasoning side.
Stage 4: final stage assessment
The last stage. A two-way discussion of about 30 minutes on a topic you prepare in advance from four options sent beforehand, then a skills and motivation interview of about 50 minutes. See the next section for detail.
Whether yours runs in person or online is stated in your invitation. We have not found Deloitte publishing this.
Stage 5: outcome
Successful candidates get onboarding details and a start date. If you are unsuccessful, targetjobs says you can apply again in the next academic year. Deloitte provides feedback and learning resources through its Candidate Zone either way.
What the final stage assessment involves
This is the part people call the Deloitte assessment centre. targetjobs describes two elements, and neither is a classic group exercise with a scoring grid. The first is the topic discussion, where you are given four options in advance, prepare one, and talk it through with an assessor who asks questions. The second is the interview, which targetjobs says mixes competency, motivational, scenario-based, personal and topical questions.
Deloitte’s own values run through every stage, according to targetjobs: lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. Link your examples to them rather than reciting them.
“Go with your gut instinct.”
Tip from the Deloitte team on ranking answers, quoted in the targetjobs guide to the Deloitte process (17 April 2025). It is attributed to the team, not to a named individual. We did not find a named candidate quote about the Deloitte final stage on a source we could check, so we have not included one.

When does Deloitte open applications?
Deloitte publishes expected open dates by business area. It describes them as indicative and likely to change with business needs. The table below follows Deloitte’s early careers application timelines page, checked on 31 October 2026.
| Business area or programme | Expected opening date | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Scotland (graduate, BrightStart, SVS and IP roles) | 21 September | Official |
| Audit and Assurance | 28 September | Official |
| Legal | 28 September | Official |
| Tax Consulting | 28 September | Official |
| Actuarial | Some roles 28 September, some 5 October | Official |
| Technology | Some roles 28 September, some 5 October | Official |
| Advisory | 5 October | Official |
| Consulting | 5 October | Official |
| Real Estate | 5 October | Official |
| Enabling Functions | 5 October | Official |
| Spring into Deloitte | 9 November (register interest) | Official |
| Career Shapers, February programme | 9 November (register interest) | Official |
Most graduate areas opened in late September or early October, so many adverts have already closed or will close early. Deloitte says to register your interest to be told when roles open, and to expect roles you cannot find to have closed for this recruitment season.
How to prepare for the Deloitte assessment centre
- Learn Deloitte’s five values and use them to choose between answer options in the immersive assessment.
- Practise speaking to a camera for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, because the job simulation records video answers.
- Prepare two or three examples from study, work or societies in the STAR format: situation, task, action, result.
- Read the four topic options as soon as you get them and pick the one you can discuss with evidence, not the one that sounds impressive.
- Use the free practice material in the Candidate Zone that Deloitte provides.

Frequently asked questions
How many stages are there in the Deloitte graduate application?
According to the targetjobs guide to the Deloitte process (17 April 2025), the graduate programme has five: online application, immersive online assessment, job simulation, final stage assessment and outcome. The same guide says entry-level apprenticeships and shorter work experience programmes combine the second and third steps into one online assessment.
How long is the Deloitte final stage assessment?
The targetjobs guide describes two parts held alongside other candidates: a two-way discussion of about 30 minutes on a topic you prepare in advance, and a skills and motivation interview of about 50 minutes. Deloitte’s own early careers pages that we read do not publish these lengths, so treat them as reported and check your invitation.
Can I apply to more than one Deloitte early careers role?
No. Deloitte’s early careers application timelines page says Deloitte operates a strict one application per year policy across its early careers opportunities and does not let you transfer an application to a different role.
Does Deloitte close roles early?
Yes. Deloitte’s timelines page says some roles show a closing date on the advert, but applications are closed early when volume is very high, so it recommends applying as early as possible.
What grades does Deloitte ask for?
targetjobs reports that graduate and placement programmes typically ask for at least a 2.1 or 104 UCAS points in your top three A levels, and that candidates who fall short are still encouraged to apply and explain extenuating circumstances. Deloitte says to check the minimum requirements for the specific programme, so read the advert you are applying for.
Can I ask for reasonable adjustments at the Deloitte assessment centre?
Yes. Deloitte says adjustments such as extra time or alternative interview formats are available, and that requests are reviewed stage by stage and are not carried forward automatically, so you need to submit a new request at each stage you reach.
