A word from Deutsche Bank
“Don’t be scared if they ask follow-up questions: interviewers want you to do well!”
Laureen, Senior Analyst UX Design, London, Deutsche Bank careers site
Deutsche Bank gives only a first name, and Laureen is an analyst giving interview advice rather than a graduate describing the programme, so read it as the employer’s own showcase.
Deutsche Bank graduate application process
The official application page describes six stages: explore and research, apply with a short form and CV, online assessments, a virtual interview, an assessment centre or Super Day (in most cases in person) and joining. The bank says it takes about six weeks from application to interview invitation. After the Super Day you are told the outcome within a week and have two weeks to decide.
Online assessments
Usually an eligibility screen first. The FAQ names a Situational Judgment Test, a Behavioral Questionnaire and an Ability Test, with 96 hours to complete each set. Only the ability test is timed. Practise with our online tests guide and logical reasoning guide.
Video interview
For some UK roles this is pre-recorded: two minutes to prepare and two minutes to record each answer, one attempt per question. The FAQ strongly recommends not using AI tools. See our video interview guide.
Assessment centre or Super Day
Typically competency assessments, case studies and a technical interview. Our assessment centre guide covers the format.
How to prepare for the next Deutsche Bank round
The bank says most applications open in late summer or early autumn, but gives no 2028 date, so we do not state one. Our advice: use the quieter months to practise the three online test types, prepare competency examples using a clear structure, and follow current markets so you can discuss them in a technical interview. Register for alerts on the Deutsche Bank students and graduates page and use the Employability Hub for free preparation material.
Deutsche Bank graduate programme salary
We could not find a published graduate salary on the official pages we opened, so we do not give a figure. When you receive an offer, use our paycheck calculator to see take-home pay, and compare with other banks such as HSBC and UBS.
Deutsche Bank compared with other banking graduate schemes
If you are weighing investment banks, read our comparison of HSBC and J.P. Morgan, the UBS guide and the retail-banking comparison of Santander and NatWest. All current schemes are in the graduate scheme hub.
