OPENAon says UK graduate roles open in October. One third-party listing reports the broking role closing on 7 December 2026. Official dates are set per role, checked 1 November 2026.

The Aon graduate scheme is a set of role-specific graduate programmes across risk broking, consulting, actuarial work and data. Aon’s own pages describe them as part of Launch, its global early careers programme, and list a six-stage process that ends in an in-person assessment centre.

One honest limit up front: Aon’s UK graduates page does not publish salaries, intake sizes or exact closing dates, so those rows below are marked as such. Where we use a date from outside Aon, we label it Reported.

Career paths you can apply for

Aon names six career paths on its graduates page. Pick the one that matches your degree and interests, because the application is role-specific. Open each to see what Aon says it looks for.

Broker (Commercial Risk and Reinsurance)

Aon says brokers offer risk advisory, claims advocacy and structured solutions. It looks for motivation, commercial awareness, and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.

Actuarial Consultant

Work on areas such as defined benefit pension schemes, actuarial software and risk and capital strategy. Aon lists excellent numerical ability, strong communication, inquisitiveness and commercial awareness.

Investment Consultant

Advise employers and governments on pension schemes and other assets, from investment strategy to asset transfers. Aon lists motivation, inquisitiveness and commercial awareness.

Catastrophe Modeller

Analyse the potential financial impact of natural or man-made disasters using commercial models and internal tools. Aon says modellers come from science, economics and engineering backgrounds and lists logical thinking and attention to detail.

Data Solutions

Work with large data sets on client projects. Aon lists excellent Excel skills, data analysis experience or passion, and an analytical mind.

Commercial Risk Consultant

Give strategic advice to companies in the insurance, reinsurance, and health and benefits markets. Aon lists problem solving, strong business writing, research and presentation skills.

The six stages, one by one

Open each stage below. The first is open by default.

Stage 1: online application

Choose a role on Aon’s UK graduate opportunities page, complete the online application, upload your CV and give details of your education and eligibility.

Stage 2: online assessments

An online assessment designed to show how your skills and strengths match the role. Aon does not name the tests on its page. For general practice see our psychometric tests guide, verbal reasoning and logical reasoning pages.

Stage 3: video interview

If you pass the assessments you are invited to a video interview about your experiences, motivation and interest in the role and in Aon. Our online tests by employer page covers what video stages usually involve.

Stage 4: assessment centre shortlisting

Candidates are reviewed for progression. Aon states it cannot guarantee an assessment centre place to everyone who completes the earlier stages.

Stage 5: assessment centre

Held in person at an Aon office with a mix of individual and group exercises. You meet Aon colleagues and current programme participants, and Aon says you may be offered a position at this stage. See our graduate assessment centre guide for how these days work.

Stage 6: final interview

For some roles a final interview follows, to discuss your skills, experiences and motivation in more detail.

When does Aon open and close?

Aon says graduate opportunities open in October and that deadlines vary by role. It also tells candidates to apply early because assessment centres run through the recruitment season. The only closing date we found is the Reported 7 December 2026 for broking, and Aon notes in the listing that it may close sooner if it has enough applications. Track other employers on our graduate scheme deadlines calendar.

Who can apply

Aon asks for a 2:1 or above, achieved or predicted, and describes the people it wants as curious, motivated and collaborative. Several paths, such as catastrophe modelling, are open to science, economics and engineering degrees, not only finance.

Quote check: we searched for a named Aon graduate or manager talking about this programme and found nothing we could verify, so we have not included one. Aon’s own page lists what it looks for in each path, shown above.

How to prepare

  • Read the job description for your role and match each requirement to an example from your degree, job or society.
  • Practise numerical, verbal and logical tests under time pressure, using our psychometric tests guide.
  • Prepare for the video interview by saying why Aon and why that role in two minutes.
  • Learn what your path does: broking, actuarial, consulting or data each ask different questions.
  • Plan for the assessment centre: group exercises reward listening and building on others’ points.

How Aon compares

Aon is a role-specific scheme, so you apply to one stream rather than to a general rotation. For firms that recruit to a broader programme, see Deloitte, KPMG and EY. The full list is on our Graduate Scheme hub.
