Design Manager

Job Description

A highly regarded main contractor operating in the Education, Commercial, Mixed-Use, and Science sectors is seeking a Design Manager. This role involves managing Design and Build projects valued at approximately £20m-£50m across multiple sectors, including Leisure, Healthcare, Science, and Education. Duties and Work Process

- Ensure technical compliance and effective design management, particularly during early feasibility and procurement stages.
- Monitor on-site design coordination and manage external consultants during project execution.
- Maintain a process-driven approach to projects with a focus on practical construction knowledge and detail-oriented planning.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications

- HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction methodology and Design & Build contracts.
- A process-driven mindset with excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.

Work Experience Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a main contractor.
Previous roles in any of the following capacities:
- Technical Manager
- Assistant Design Manager
- Design Manager
- Design Coordinator
- Assistant Design & Build Manager

Education Requirements

- HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
