Capgemini vs Accenture Graduate Scheme 2027: Which Should You Choose?

The Capgemini vs Accenture graduate scheme decision comes down to structure. Capgemini Invent runs one named programme, Accelerate, where you apply to a pathway and spend about 21 months moving from Associate Consultant to Consultant. Accenture recruits into four separate tracks: Consulting, Strategy, Software Engineering and Operations. Both are open for the 2026/27 cycle, and both recruit in stages that start online. Read our full guides to the Capgemini graduate scheme and the Accenture graduate scheme for the details on each. For other consulting routes, see McKinsey and Deloitte.

The single biggest difference: one programme with nine pathways vs four tracks
At Capgemini you apply to a pathway, and Capgemini lists nine: Financial Services, Enterprise Data & Analytics, Workforce and Organisation, Public Sector, Energy & Utilities, frog, Intelligent Industry, Business Technology and Corporate Experience. Everyone then follows the same Institute and Academy structure.
At Accenture the choice is broader in kind: Consulting and Strategy sit alongside Software Engineering and Operations, and each track is recruited separately, so your choice shapes your role and your starting pay band. In short: Capgemini is one consulting programme with industry pathways, Accenture is a set of different career tracks.

What the job actually feels like
Capgemini describes the first three months as The Institute: an induction and 12 weeks of core consulting skills through structured learning, practical assignments and real business challenges. After that you join your pathway’s Academy and work on real client projects for 18 months.
Accenture says its assessment is one part of hiring and does not replace interviews, and its graduates are placed by track, so the day-to-day depends on whether you join Consulting, Strategy, Software Engineering or Operations. We could not find a named graduate quote from either employer that we could verify, so we have not included one. We would rather say so than invent one.
Programme structure
Capgemini. Accelerate runs about 21 months: three months in The Institute, then 18 months in the Academy for your pathway. After both you become eligible for promotion from Associate Consultant to Consultant.
Accenture. Each track is recruited separately, so structure depends on the track you pick. Accenture’s UK graduates page lists which tracks are open, and its other regional pages also list AI and Data and Cyber Security, so confirm what is open in the UK.
Application process
Capgemini uses three steps. First, an online application with your CV, cover letter and a form covering motivation, pathway, location, graduation date and preferred start date. Second, a digital interview where you record answers on camera; Capgemini provides a demo with mock questions that are not reviewed, so use it to practise. Third, a half-day assessment centre with a group exercise and a one-to-one strengths-based interview, plus a short presentation about Capgemini Invent. Capgemini says you are not competing with other candidates in the group exercise: you have to work together. See Capgemini’s graduate recruitment process page.
Accenture does not publish a full UK stage-by-stage guide, so the steps combine its official wording with what applicants report: an online application via the Headstart platform, a timed online assessment usually completed within about 72 hours of the invitation (most take 30 to 90 minutes and are scored automatically), a video interview commonly reported as pre-recorded questions, and a final stage commonly reported as a half-day session, virtual or in person. Deadlines

February, April and June 2027 starts closed on 9 October 2026; August, September and November starts open from 15 October 2026, with the deadline set by Capgemini. If the window you want is shut, you can register your interest on Capgemini’s site.
Accenture’s 2026/27 intake opened on 25 September 2026, with interviews commonly reported to begin in November and continue into spring. Check Accenture’s official page for closing dates.
