What to include in a care assistant cover letter

1. The role and the employer: name both in the first lines, plus where you saw the advert.
2. Your motivation: one honest sentence on why you want to work in care.
3. Practical skills: personal care, mobility support, medication prompts, record keeping, working with people living with dementia, if you have them.
4. Qualities backed by examples: patience, reliability, communication, teamwork.
5. Training and checks: mention a Care Certificate, a Level 2 diploma in adult care, first aid or manual handling if you hold them. Say you are happy to have an enhanced DBS check.
6. Availability: shifts, weekends, nights, driving licence if relevant.
