Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates or entry-level professionals to apply their technical knowledge to real-world projects. The position involves site investigation, data analysis, and field assessments, contributing to various geotechnical engineering projects.
Duties and Work Process
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments to gather soil, rock, and groundwater data.
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including stability analysis, bearing capacity assessment, and settlement evaluation.
- Prepare technical reports, geotechnical recommendations, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams on designing foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other earth structures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and standards.
- Assist senior engineers with data analysis, report preparation, and project management.
- Utilize software like PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or other modeling tools for geotechnical design.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio) is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work on-site and occasionally travel to various project locations.
Work Experience Requirements
- Entry-level to 1+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or related fieldwork. Internship experience in geotechnical, civil, or environmental engineering is also valuable.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering (with a focus on geotechnics), or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous but not required.
