Microsoft is looking for a Data Centre Technician to join our team and help ensure the seamless operation of our cutting-edge data centers. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting hardware systems, monitoring data center environments, and working collaboratively to support Microsoft’s global infrastructure.Duties and Work Process
- Perform hardware installation, replacement, and decommissioning of server and network equipment.- Troubleshoot and repair server issues using diagnostic tools and resources.
- Monitor data center infrastructure for power, cooling, and hardware alerts, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance and inventory management to ensure data center compliance.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements.
- Support deployment and configuration of new hardware and system upgrades.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols within the data center environment.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems.- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for hardware troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with inventory management and tracking systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a data center environment or related field.- Hands-on experience with server and network equipment maintenance is preferred.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.- An associate degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent, are a plus.
