Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates with a background in geotechnics, civil engineering, or related fields to gain hands-on experience in geotechnical analysis, site investigations, and design for various engineering projects. You will work closely with a dynamic team of engineers and project managers on projects in urban infrastructure, transportation, energy, and environmental sectors.
Duties and Work Process
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
- Assist with planning and conducting site investigations, including soil and rock sampling and in-situ testing.
- Analyze data from field investigations and laboratory tests to interpret ground conditions.
- Collaborate in preparing geotechnical reports, engineering design calculations, and drawings.
- Work on numerical modeling for soil-structure interaction and groundwater analysis.
- Support the preparation of health and safety documents for field and office work.
- Coordinate with other departments and clients to ensure project deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Strong foundation in geotechnical principles and soil mechanics.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Effective communication skills for collaborative teamwork and client interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet project deadlines.
Work Experience Requirements
- Previous internship or placement experience in geotechnical or civil engineering is preferred but not required. Practical experience is a plus, though not essential, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. A master’s degree or further specialization in geotechnics is an advantage.
