Facebooks Product Security team in London is seeking a skilled and motivated hacker to help us secure over 3 billion users. From building the coding frameworks to help engineers build secure code to developing automated detection tools to help spot bugs at scale to running one of the oldest bug bounty programs in the industry to working alongside product teams to build security into each feature, our team is committed to finding, fixing, and preventing bugs across our platform.The ideal candidate is someone who derives purpose in life by revealing potential weaknesses and then crafting creative solutions to eliminate those weaknesses. Come help us make life hard for the bad guys!This is a 12 week summer internship opportunity in London, starting June 2022.

Required Skills:

1. Write code and develop systems to improve Facebooks security

2. Perform security assessments, working closely with development teams on identifying security issues in their code and finding solutions to provide required functionality securely

3. Interact directly with the security community regarding potential vulnerabilities and threats as part of our Whitehat Bug Bounty program

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field

2. Enthusiasm for hunting for potential weaknesses and then crafting creative solutions to eliminate them

3. Experience in web application/mobile/native code security issues

4. Familiarity with an interpreted programming language (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc)

5. Contributions to the security community are a huge plus (public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty participation, etc)
