Line managed by the Site Manager or Business Manager or Head Teacher. Work as part of team to ensure programmes of work are completed.
The role involves regular liaison with other teaching and support staff in school.
The post holder will develop effective working relationships with external contractors and regularly liaise with community users of the facilities.
Key Result Areas:
- To work flexibly over the week with hours regularly worked during the day-time and evenings, with occasional weekends (in cases of emergency)
- Operate heating plant and equipment efficiently and effectively and report defects and malfunctions to the Site Manager
- Maintain the security of the premises including the operation of security lighting and fire and burglar alarm systems and participate in the school's out of hours call out system
- Responsible for carrying out minor repairs, maintenance and decorations
- Undertake moving and handling tasks including setting up/clearing away furniture and porterage of deliveries across the site
- Responsible for site safety, ensuring clear and safe access and security of the site and its contents
- Undertake school lettings (in cases of emergency only)
- Undertaking general cleaning duties in line with agreed standards and schedule for the establishment
- Responsible for the safe and effective operation of commercial cleaning and other equipment
- Responsible for the safe and effective use of prescribed chemical agents
- To work hours flexibly over 52 weeks
