Duties will include:

  • To purchase equipment and services to support Heanor Site requirements, and internal customers as required. This process will include the preparation of enquiries, purchase orders, evaluation of bids and contractual negotiations, to optimise returns achieving/improving upon budgeted costs, ensuring best practice
  • To manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, performance, schedule and delivery
  • To negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality so as to obtain the maximum benefit to the business
  • To expedite suppliers and produce regular feedback to the Procurement Manager and project team
  • To perform regular performance reviews with suppliers to drive continuous improvements
  • To coordinate supplier approvals, submissions and monitor returns
  • To provide feedback to the line manager as appropriate
  • To adhere to the Cullum purchase order governance, ensuring professional consideration is given to cost, quality and delivery
  • To provide support as required to the other members of the procurement team
  • To monitor supplier inventory, and provide support to members of the finance team, ensuring accurate financial year end stock sheets are submitted in a timely manner
  • Be highly motivated with a flexible and proactive attitude with a desire to learn and view to take on responsibility
  • Good IT skills
  • Good with numbers
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to pass information on effectively but with a willingness to be practical
  • Appropriate level of literacy and numeracy skills
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Willingness to undergo continual training
  • Highly organised
