If so we have a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity for a Placement Support Coordinator (PSC) with a focus on the support of our Allied Health Learners.

As a PSC you will work within the current Clinical Placement Support team here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to build on existing professional relationships with our AHP leads at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals to support the maintenance of quality learning environments for our learners.

The successful candidate will require excellent personal communication skills both verbally and written. You will be required to work collaboratively and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams, both within the trust and our HEI partners

Working for our organisation

We welcome applicants from senior band 3 HCAs/AHP support or band 4s who would like to share their experience when supporting learners in the clinical environment.

As part of the role you will be required to work across both trust sites. You will be expected to work Monday to Friday during the service operational hours 8am to 4pm (with some flexibility depending on service delivery)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will predominately working to support our AHP learners, however their is a requirement to include all other students at times.

Working with the Clinical Placement Support Manager to deliver a support service and the curriculum requirements within it.

Work collaboratively with our clinical educators to support the learning outcomes of our learners.

Attend student meetings and keep student visit records upto date and completed in a timely manners

Have an awareness of the online PARE system

Have some knowledge of the CLiP Model

Preparing learners for placements, taking an active role in induction process and any teaching that is required.

Person specification

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria

  • * Maths GCSE C grade or equivalent * English GCSE C grade or equivalent

Desirable criteria

  • * PGCE or equivalent
  • * Educated to Degree level
  • * Qualified and experienced sign off mentor

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • * Recent experience of Allied Health Professional services in an acute hospital environment
  • * Evidence of experience in leading projects to successful outcomes
  • * Experience of supporting/coaching/mentoring /teaching Learners in practice
  • * Up to date knowledge of the educational system, curriculum and qualifications leading to entry to pre-registration allied health professional education

Desirable criteria

  • * Experience of co-ordinating educational Programmes
  • * Experience of teaching in classroom settings
  • * Evidence of experience in assessing
