  • A working knowledge of the calibration system for the Nifco UK Ltd. manufacturing site
  • Follow calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science and the accuracy and precision requirements
  • Organise and keep relevant calibration records and information as required
  • Maintain Calibration system to TS16949 standards
  • Read and understand engineering drawings
  • Access CAD data from the design section and use for measurement of parts on the CMM
  • Have a good understanding of GD&T and how to implement it
  • Production of measurements and legible reports for the validation of moulded components and complexed assemblies
  • Carry out measurement capability studies
  • Carry out investigatory work into concerns on moulded components and complexed assemblies
  • Assist with testing when required

  • DEA Global CNC CMM
  • Mitutoyo Quick Vision Systems
  • Profile projectors
  • Micrometers
  • Digital Callipers
  • Slip Gauge Blocks
  • Mitutoyo Suface tester

  • Carry out 5 s check for your work area
  • Adhoc Duties
  • Holiday Cover
  • Stock Taking
  • VA-VE (Value Added - Value Engineering)
  • A proven experience in metrology
  • Experienced in various Microsoft packages, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project etc
  • Organised, methodical and accurate in working practices
  • Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills
  • Experienced in latest level PC-DMIS software for the CMM
  • Experienced in latest level QV-PAK software for the Quick Vision

Personal qualities

  • Flexibility in carrying out duties required in both Metrology and Testing
  • An ability to concentrate on the work in hand
  • Hardworking and dedicated
  • An interest in Metrology

Desired qualifications

GCSE Maths, English and Science A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent.

Future prospects

An opportunity for a full time position at the end of the apprenticeship.
