The type of work we carry out is high end, varied and interesting. Located throughout the midlands Tamworth, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Redditch, Bromsgrove. We also occasionally carry out work at the RHS Flower Shows.

Duties could include -

  • Ensure our customers receive a courteous and first class professional service
  • Cutting of grass
  • Treating grass for weed or moss control
  • Strimming of gardens and grassed areas
  • Edging lawns and pathways
  • Weed removal and/or spraying with appropriate chemicals
  • Moss removal and/or spraying with appropriate chemicals
  • Litter picking to sites and grassed areas before cutting grass
  • Cutting of hedges and pruning when required, taking care and attention
  • Plant and flower planning
  • Turnover soil to borders
  • Sweeping of paths, leaving area clean and tidy
  • Cleaning of all tools and equipment after use
  • Various grounds maintenance tasks
  • Hard landscaping
  • Undertake any additional, ad-hoc tasks as deemed necessary by management
  • To be able to carry out physical work, including carrying of machinery mowers rubbish etc

Things to consider

This apprenticeship incorporates day release at our Rodbaston Campus (ST19 5PH) once per week as well as work-based visits. You will be required to work outside in ALL weather and the work is physically demanding Applicants must be aware that they will be required to attend an Information Advice and Guidance session at one of our Campuses (Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock Chase Skills and Innovation Centre, or Rodbaston) in order to progress further in this vacancy. During the session, candidates must complete baseline assessments and will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the qualification.

Any additional internal training supplied by company: Site health and safety Landscape machinery Trade skills such as carpentry and brick laying.
