They will report to the office in the morning and go out with an experienced team to various jobs - in various locations -

Tameside / Ashton / Dukinfield.

The candidates will stay with a manager at all times to be trained and mentored.

Duties include:

  • To plan, measure, cut and fit all different types of floorcovering
  • To prepare the subfloor, scrape, screed before fitting vinyl floorcoverings.
  • To fit and lay underlay for carpets
  • To cove and seal wet rooms/ bathroom flooring
  • To repair damaged floorcovering.
  • To fit and drill stair nosing
  • To fit finishing plates to door areas.
  • At the end of the week to complete a work timesheet

SKILLS NEEDED

Contract flooring needs be learnt on the job, which will be in the training.

We dont expect many skills but we require someone reliable and willing to learn, with the right attitude and a good team worker.

WORKING HOURS

8am - 4pm Monday to Wednesday but this will be flexible to suit the right candidates and the business workflow.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT

  • We have two teams that are over seen by a manager, they will work on both teams giving them experience to work alongside and be mentored by people with different skill sets and communicate with different members of staff.
  • They will learn how to clean, prepare, screed for new vinyl flooring to be laid, for all aspects of different types of floorcovering, vinyls / carpets. They will also learn to plan, measure, cut and fit - this will all come with experience in the training we will offer and support.
  • Once we feel the candidate is comfortable and gaining experience we will put them forward for their CSCS card and Asbestos awareness certificate.
  • We also give a Tool box talk each week with staff which helps with jobs Kickstarters are assigned.
  • Records of attendance are kept to help teach the importance of timekeeping and attendance.
  • Daily morning meetings with staff.
  • Feedback is encouraged, with daily meetings with an assigned manager to discuss any gaps in knowledge and receive any feedback - positive or negative, so we can work towards a better outcome and future.
