To assist our IT Technician in all aspects of the running of a busy IT department in a school. We are moving to a new, state of the art campus in December 2021 and there will be new systems to set up.

If youve always had an interest in computers and IT we have a great opportunity for you. Weve looking for a enthusiastic person to join our growing and busy school to support the IT department. You will work will include installing new computers, setting up software, helping fix problems and generally assisting our staff and pupils with their IT problems.

Well give you full training for the role and expose you to lots of different technologies so that youll never get bored and have the best start in your IT career!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated IT Apprentice to work with our IT Technician. You will be based full-time on-site, responsible for some of the day to day IT issues that arise and be part of the strategic planning of our move to our permanent site in January 2022. You will be supported by Chichester College and the staff working within the Trust. You will be providing first line support, working with a range of systems and users, including teaching and non-teaching staff, students and their families with varying skills. The varied nature of this role requires an engaged and enthusiastic person who has the ability to think outside the box to solve issues independently, but who can also work effectively within the school team. All employees will be subject to a DBS check and all

appointments are dependent on receipt of satisfactory references.

Things to consider

This role would require a full DBS check

There will be times when you will be required to react to situations with urgency - you need to be unflappable and remain calm when faced with challenging situations.

The IT Department is very small. Although you are part of a large and supportive team, you would be working mainly with one other person.

There will be occasions where you may be asked to work in the evenings or at weekends, but you would be offered time off in lieu to compensate.

Currently we are on a bus route and easily accessible by train but the new site is more rural and has fewer direct transport routes.

This occupation is found in organisations, large and small, in all sectors, and within public, private and voluntary organisations. Organisations of all types are increasing applying digital technologies across all their business functions to maximise productivity. The demand for people who can support and implement these digital operations and digital transformation projects is increasing. Similarly, organisations of all types are increasingly supporting their service users though online and digital channels, as they develop omni-channel approaches to meeting customer needs, deflect traditional telephone and face-to-face contacts and to reduce costs.

The broad purpose of a Digital Support Technician is to maximise the effective use of digital office technologies, productivity software, digital communications, including collaborative technologies, and digital information systems to achieve objectives. They will select one of the following two options:

A Digital Applications Technician helps their organisation and its internal users to maximise the use of digital technologies and adapt to and exploit changes in technology to meet organisation objectives and maximise productivity ensure effective use of digital office technologies, productivity software, digital communications, including collaborative technologies, and digital information systems to achieve objectives

A Digital Service Technician supports the external customers and clients of their organisation though a wide variety of digital channels, to help them access and receive services, to coach and support them in their use of the digital systems; to support them to complete and submit information remotely and to diagnose and resolve their problems in relation to their access to and use of the digital technologies

In their daily work, Digital Support Technicians interact with a wide variety of internal or external users of digital systems, through digital channels, by phone and/or face to face.
