Intern: Mechanical Engineer (Spring 2022) United States Position Description Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America, provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution to final delivery of complete products and also support the products in the aftermarket. Position Description:We are currently looking for a student to work with our Materials and Structures team as a Mechanical/Materials Summer Intern. The student should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment; gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering and new product development. As a valued member of the Materials and Structures team within GTT, the student will have the opportunity to work directly with metallurgists, materials, and mechanical engineers. GTTs goal is to contribute to the students development, as well as providing an opportunity for the student to work in a business environment within the
manufacturing industry. This position will report to the Materials & Structures manager within the Base Engine, Driveline, and E&E department of Powertrain Engineering, North America.Position Responsibilities:Analyzing component parts and assemblies to assist/provide input in determining the best course of action required to resolve actual or potential problemsCoordinates activities with other departments within the Company, on a limited basis as necessaryProvide engineering support assistance for quality issues as requiredMiscellaneous technical data generation, analysis, and reportingIssue written and oral reportsAssist team in identifying process improvementsSupport of component and system test activitiesCreate spreadsheets and flow charts in support of staff projectsPerform other routine engineering duties as assignedLooking for a student with an interest in Metallurgy and/or Material ScienceCommunication: Listen effectively, transmit information accurately and understandably, and
