The Challenge

Embark on your 12 month placement with us whilst taking part in our fantastic intern development programme. We will create an individual training plan to help you to develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it you will be set up with the best knowledge to equip you for your professional career in engineering innovation. 

  • Detailed evaluation of RSSB ‘Innovation Catalogue’.
  • Mapping activities to universities and organisations.
  • Establishing where Siemens Mobility or competitors have involvement in projects.
  • Prioritising activities which offer opportunities to us.
  • Building up detailed mapping of university interactions, to help us prioritise which we should invest in.
  • Running (with support) a trial ‘innovation day’.
  • Special project of ‘owning’ the process of establishing ‘local university’ contacts - seeking volunteers and nominated universities, building up links, getting one or two working strongly.
  • Working with the Capability Manager or the team through supporting the current STEM strategy and associated tasks.

 

Here’s what it takes to join some of the world’s brightest minds.

  • You must be currently studying towards a degree in an an engineering based subject and looking for an industry placement.
  • Numerical and analytical skills are a must with the ability to interpret data and information in order to produce it in a clear and logical format.
  • Computer literate with well-developed skills in MS Office applications.
