The Central Function consists of the people and teams that support the business group-wide. These people are integral to the smooth running of THG; ensuring our staff are paid on time, that materials are sourced and arrive promptly, that we meet our legal obligations and that our health, safety, and security is safeguarded.

About the People Services Team and Your Role:

Reporting to the People Services Team Leader, the People Services Apprentice will provide a first-class administrative support and assistance service to the People team and wider business, ensuring that we offer a can-do service to employees across the Group. The post holder will ensure all our data from employee records to system information is kept as up to date as possible and support other members of the People team as and when required to ensure work is completed to highest achievable standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up new starter personnel files ensuring they are completed in line with HR requirements
  • Process incoming reference requests ensuring completion in a timely manner
  • Review probation outcomes, send out relevant documentation
  • Chasing employees for any outstanding DBS certificates, ensuring that all are completed in a timely manner
  • Work alongside People administrators to ensure system is updated accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to listen, to discuss and to inform clearly
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous with good time management, leadership and delegation skills
  • Ability to successfully manage conflict and resolve difficult situations
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Good degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Desired qualifications

  • A*-C / 9-4 in maths and English (or the equivalent)
  • Candidates can complete functional skills as part of the apprenticeship
