Wakefield Council are currently looking to enhance their Adults Out of Hours Service, and so are seeking to recruit 3 Social Workers to join the Social Care Direct Team on initial 12 month temporary assignments. The Team are happy to welcome Newly Qualified Social Workers / Graduates who want to progress with their ASYE, as well as experienced Practitioners. Wakefield Social Care Direct is the initial point of contact for all Adult Social Care enquiries. Social Care Direct interact with people with a range of needs such as physical disabilities, older people, learning disabilities, drug and alcohol use, mental health, and people experiencing homelessness and offending. The successful candidate will need to provide people with advice and information, assess needs and undertake safeguarding enquiries under s.42. Mental Health. You will be expected to work alongside the Duty AMHP to respond to some of the urgent social care queries such as supporting adults and their families in need of urgent care. Hours - Normally 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday), 1 weekend per month, 1 week per month 12pm - 8pm (Monday - Friday). This will be on a rota basis.
