Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician design, install, commission and maintain electronic systems in and outside simple and complex premises to protect individuals, homes and properties from risk and danger. Systems include fire, security and emergency systems to detect intrusion, provide surveillance, monitor and control access to buildings, properties and sites or to detect fire and emergencies.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Install, service and repair any type of security system, for example, fire, cctv, intruder, door access
  • Carry out preventative maintenance service duties
  • Liaise with customers to ensure satisfactory installation and completion of the job
  • Take part in the key holder response rote (when appropriate)
  • Complete administrative tasks (including dockets, time sheets, holiday request forms etc) within the time frames given
  • Undertake the technical qualifications as required
  • Attend and take part in additional training as and when required
  • Provide ideas / solutions to improve services and products offered by the Company
  • Act in a manner befitting of the Company
  • Observe Health and Safety Polices at all times
  • Maintain a smart appearance and cleanliness of self and Company vehicles

Desired qualifications

We require a person with a positive work ethic and good time keeping with the ability to learn engineering skills for the installation and maintenance of commercial and domestic security systems. These include intruder, fire, cctv and access systems. Training will be given where required. GCSE Maths and English or working toward these or an equivalent are essential and other qualifications are desirable but not essential.
