To be an integral part of the maintenance team ensuring that work requests are progressed to plan and completed on time to a high Standard.

  • Ensure compliance of company procedures, such as Health and Safety
  • Environmental; Quality and Legal Compliance for all areas
  • Be proficient in welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Operate and maintain the machines that make and repair metal structures, equipment and machinery
  • Use MMA and MIG welding equipment, gas cutting equipment, pedestal drills, bench & angle grinders along with many other tools for fabrication
  • Layout, fit & fabricate metal components
  • Delivery of project work within agreed timescales
  • Precision cutting of metals with power and hand saws, cutting machines
  • Set up and weld equipment and parts according to welding chart specifications and types
  • Work to tolerances set out in engineering drawings
  • Play a key part in continuous improvement and TPM initiatives such as 5S
  • Display a proactive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first-time quality and ownership of Problem solving

Desired qualifications

  • A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 and above, including mathematics, English and science, technology, or engineering-related subjects
  • Applicants are also required to successfully pass assessment before being offered an apprenticeship
