Through work experience, studying, coaching, training and development (both practical and vocational) complete a course of study and obtain work related professional qualifications ensuring they are able to carry out the role of Electrical Maintenance Engineer competently and effectively within a pre-determined time frame.

Reporting directly to the High/Low Risk Maintenance Supervisors, the job holder will work closely with the Operations, Health and Safety, and Technical Departments as part of the Engineering function.

Qualifications Required

Educated to GCSE A level or equivalent or working towards obtaining this standard and above.

Engineering Qualification (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC) - Desirable

Professional Certification

Health & Safety at Work - Desirable

Food Safety Certificate - Desirable

  • To attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard
  • To produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of relevant documentation
  • To take on additional responsibility in Years 3 & 4 of Apprenticeship
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To understand and comply with all aspects of Company policies and procedures
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • To comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in regular training and development reviews with your Supervisor, Site Engineering Manager, college tutors and HR representatives
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Level Apprentice Standard

includes End Point Assessment

College attendance - 1 day per week at Olive Grove Campus in term time.

Other Information

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is 4.30 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
