- Working as part of a team to execute a first-class service
- Assisting dentists and dental hygiene/therapists in surgery
- Set-up the surgery ready for different types of procedures
- Provide materials for use during procedures
- Engage in patient conversations to help the treatment process and put the patient at ease
- Provide suction for certain procedures involving aerosol
- Effectively clean and disinfect the surgery after treatment
- Assist with radiographs
- Set up the x-ray equipment for use on a patient
- Use of the digital processing equipment once an x-ray has been taken
- Provide the decontamination process of instruments after they have been used
- Understand and execute the cross-infection standards as per the guidance and requirements
- Manage different types of waste, including clinical waste
- Stock control within the surgery to ensure adequate stock of consumables
- Deal with incoming and outgoing labwork
- Welcome patients as they arrive for appointments in a professional manner
- Booking appointments on the reception desk
- Answering the telephone and dealing with patient enquiries
- Taking payments for patient appointments
- Carrying out general clinical & administrative duties to ensure the effective running of the practice
- Execute the standards of the dental profession, in accordance with the General Dental Council
- Promoting a professional image of the company at all times
- A warm, friendly, reliable and adaptable personality
- The ability to work flexibly with others in a busy team environment
