This vacancy is for Viking Inspections Ltd. Working with the onsite technicians, you will be required to create reports based on the NDT Technician's findings on site. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.
If you don't already have CAD qualifications/experience, you will learn to understand CAD drawings to help translate into reports for customers as well as understanding the legislations and policies for health and safety, GDPR and the companies own policies. You will also be required to improve on current process the company has and coaching colleagues in these processes. You will also be assisting the office manager in day to day operations of the company, including helping with invoicing, accounts, social media and Business Development Admin and organisation of company/team meetings.
The successful apprentice Reports Author will be required to compile reports, to include but not be limited to the following:
Compilation of client reports based on the contents of workpacks completed in the field by technicians
Ensuring all aspects of workpacks are clear and have been completed and that they provide the information required to complete detailed inspection reports
Assisting the reports writers in auditing All incoming workpacks for correct content, completion and legibility
Completion of reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat DC (PDF), ZWCAD, equipment specific software etc.
Contacting the relevant senior field technician as required to clarify missing, incorrect data within workpacks that is required to complete the reports in a timely manner
Review of other report writers reports prior to presenting to management for final review
Updating the report board on a daily basis to reflect the state of reports, who is completing which reports and report priority, some of this information will be gathered by having morning management meetings and liaison with other report writer and the senior report author
Updating VIMS (Viking inspection management software) on a daily basis to show which client reports are being completed that day
Issuing of completed reports to the client via Email and hard copy if required after sign-off by Management
Filing of completed workpacks in accordance with company procedures
The successful candidate will also be working closely to assist the office manager in day-to day tasks including:
Working on Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point as well of bespoke software specific to the company
Sending emails, communicating to colleagues and customers over the phone or face to face
Coaching your colleagues in new processes designed and recommended by you to improve efficiency and accuracy within the offices day to day tasks
Chair your own meetings to present your analysis and collated data to the company
Organise team building activities and fundraising/charitable event for the local community
Work alongside the business development manager to revive social media channels
Undertake CAD Training during your apprenticeship (Thursday Evening for 20 weeks) if applicable.
