The role of Marketing & Media Assistant within the academy is a key position which will contribute to the implementation of the David Nieper Academy's strategic Marketing Development Plan. The post holder will help collate and generate news content and ensure that all marketing activity is widely and appropriately publicised across our online platforms and through print and digital marketing media.

Specific responsibility will be for the day to day management of the academy's website, social media channels and targeted communications plan. The post holder will also develop links and partnerships with businesses and community contacts at the same time as building close working relationships with other members of the teaching and non-teaching staff.


  • Assisting in the procurement and design of materials for academy prospectus, advertisements, newsletters, website and other materials as required
  • To be proactive in identifying areas of academy life that would warrant writing the occasional news item for submission to educational magazines
  • To design adverts/plan media events - within budgeted constraints
  • To design fliers/mailshots/banners/posters with a creative flair
  • To design and create programmes for events
  • Liaise with local press for advertising and editorial opportunities


  • To oversee, audit and maintain the content of the academy website ensuring that all statutory requirements are met at all times
  • To develop website content as a vibrant, informative area for all stakeholders and a key vehicle for academy marketing
  • Produce newsletters
  • Maintain and support a pro-active online presence for the academy
  • Monitor the academy's social media profile
  • Develop and maintain website content to ensure it is always fresh, comprehensive, up-to-date and focused on evidencing the ethos and achievements of the academy


  • Co-ordinate the administration and organisation of marketing events
  • Arrange the marketing of admissions events, transition activities, open days and any other events that promote the growth of the Academy
  • To arrange photography shoots of key events alongside the annual individual pupils' photographs and whole academy photos
  • To capture the vibrancy of the academy through the use of various media such as photography, film and news


  • To liaise with the marketing budget holder, to ensure costs remain within budget
  • To liaise with our catering team for special events
  • To perform other reasonable duties as required by the Head teacher
