Your role will be to support the team in line with corporate, internal, legal and international industry standards. The main responsibilities will include:

  • Adhere to and to promote all required health, safety and welfare policies whilst supporting in maintaining the companies approved management systems.
  • Assist in the provision of the site's Health, Safety & Environmental support and advice.
  • Hazard identification and internal audits including site inspections.
  • Preparing and maintaining health, safety and environmental records.
  • The investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents, including risk assessments and management.
  • Actively engage with employees to develop health and safety culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in developing a career in health and safety. With the appropriate training and development through the Health, Safety and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship, you will develop all the skills necessary to be a competent Health and Safety professional. There will be the opportunity to progress with further training and the potential for future permanent employment for the right candidate.

No experience is necessary but an interest in health and safety and a keen desire to learn is essential. The following are also essential requirements:

  • GCE level 4 or Functional skills Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent IT skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • High attention to detail.
  • You should be reliable, flexible and adaptable with an enthusiastic approach.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday; 08.00 - 17.00 with some flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
