The apprentices will be mentored by qualified engineers specialising in their field using an "On the job" training method. They will assist in MIG welding, fabricate parts from drawings, prepare parts for welding, general maintenance of equipment.

The Apprentice Fabricator Welder duties will include:

  • Compliance to Heath, Safety and Environmental Regulations
  • Working to and using drawings and schematics
  • Marking out, measuring and cutting to size
  • Using and understanding various types of materials for specific jobs
  • Fabricating different types of materials to tolerance
  • Cutting, bending and manipulating materials to shape
  • Basic welding techniques including MIG

You will receive a level 2 Engineering Operative standard in Engineering.

Training will include:
