  • To provide a reception service for all patients reporting to reception desks including; appointment bookings, prescription requests and other queries
  • To receive and deal with incoming telephone calls into the Practice
  • To be aware of the different services available to patients and Care Navigate appropriately
  • To record relevant information in different formats
  • To carry out filing/archiving of all clinical correspondence according to Practice protocols, including prescriptions awaiting collection
  • To undertake Photocopying tasks as requested
  • To distribute clinical/non-clinical correspondence to Practice members
  • To assist with visitors to the practice ensuring that they sign in and sign out
  • To assist with a printout of a patient report i.e. home visits report
  • To ensure any messages are relayed in a timely manner and using the correct process to the relevant member of the team
  • To respond to patients in emergencies, assisting with CPR and equipment if required
  • To react to activated panic alarms in accordance with practice protocols
  • Assist in any other task/duties as requested by a member of staff or the Team Leader on site
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues and patients
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Will be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Desired qualifications

5 GCSE's grade 4-9/C-A* or equivalent, including Maths and English are required.

After successful completion of the Apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to progress with lots of further learning to develop.
