  • To undertake a range of administrative duties required in connection with the running of Student Services
  • To receive visitors and undertake necessary hospitality arrangements
  • To answer the telephone and pass on comprehensive messages
  • To perform general clerical duties
  • To be responsible for maintaining filing systems
  • To attend staff meetings as and when required
  • To undertake photocopying, scanning and shredding duties
  • To undertake typing and word processing duties
  • To work confidentially within the unit
  • To ensure information held within the unit is kept up to date
  • To ensure posters displayed by the unit around the college are kept up to date
  • To accept responsibility for the implementation of the Colleges Equality and Diversity policy throughout all personal contacts in the College and within this area of responsibility
  • To maintain professional standards and expertise by undertaking relevant professional development, including ensuring that knowledge regarding changes to relevant legislation is kept up to date
  • To maintain quality standards appropriate to the post
  • To conform with the Health and Safety requirements relevant to the post
  • To be responsible for the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children wherever applicable within the role
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Appropriate level of IT skills to undertake relevant duties, i.e., Word and Excel or the willingness and ability to undertake relevant training
  • Good literacy, numerical and organisational skills

  • The ability to work in a non-discriminatory manner
  • Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children wherever applicable

Desired qualifications

GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English.

Future prospects

Employment and progression within the organisation may be possible upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
