We are looking for an Apprentice Assistant Technical Officer to join our friendly, forward thinking Pharmacy Team.

You will have a friendly and approachable personality, be willing to work as part of a team and committed to providing the best possible service for patients.

You will need to be self-motivated with good communication & interpersonal skills. To qualify for this position you will require GCSEs English, Maths or equivalent and good IT skills.

You will have the opportunity to work in all the main sections of the pharmacy department - dispensary, distribution, stores, procurement and community services - where you will assist in the dispensing of prescriptions, the supply of medicines to wards and departments and assist with the ordering, receiving and checking of medicines from external suppliers. There will be some manual handling involved when working in Pharmacy Stores and Distribution

Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy is desirable and on the job training will be provided.

Post holder will be required to work towards obtaining a Level 2 pharmacy qualification via the apprenticeship route.

Applicants will be required to complete a numeracy and literacy test on the day of the interview
