  • Provide general clerical support to staff within the academy, including typing of letters and other documents, photocopying and filing, etc. as required
  • Carry out general telephone duties including answering and transferring incoming telephone calls
  • Use SIMS to assist the Data Team in the accurate record-keeping of student information. Training will be provided
  • Maintain stationery stocks for the administrative staff
  • Assist with content management of the Academy's social media sites in order to celebrate our successes, and share important messages
  • Attend staff meetings, evening events (such as Parents' Evenings and Open Evenings) and INSET activities where relevant
  • Work to deadlines in a calm and confident manner when under pressure. Be organised, able to multi task, work flexibly and have a "can do" approach
  • Uphold and actively support the academy's policies and procedures
  • Deal with children, including administering first aid as required, liaising with parents and teachers as necessary and completing all associated paperwork in line with school procedures
  • Communicate with parents regarding all aspects of Academy life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers, including phoning parents when necessary
  • Communicate with the site team and teaching staff using the two-way radio system
  • Understand Data Protection and Confidentiality
  • Carry out any such task as shall be deemed necessary to the smooth running of the Academy


  • Print/photocopy/staple/bind/laminate documents as required and distribute finished printing
  • Carry out the design and production of printed materials for the school using various software packages such as Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Establish good working relationships with all school staff, while being sensitive to confidentiality requirements
  • Ensure the school complies with copyright and legislative requirements
  • Ensure agreed schedule maintenance and safety checks are carried out and recorded on reprographic equipment, with any faults being reported within one working day and the line manager notified. Organise engineer call outs as necessary. Maintain photocopiers by assisting with ordering stock and consumables, and changing toners
  • Assist in the monitoring of stock levels and maintain an inventory of reprographics and stationery using the agreed recording procedures within the department
  • Support teachers with administration, organisation and the provision and arrangement of student resources
  • Take appropriate action to identify, evaluate and minimise any risks to health, safety and security in the immediate work environment
  • Complete any training required to improve and develop performance to carry out the roles and duties of the post
  • Competent user of Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Highly organised and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to communicate at all levels - written and oral
  • Ability to remain confidential, discrete, and professional at all times

Skills Required :

Previous office admin experience would be advantageous.
