To accurately process and maintain client’s books and records in order to provide the client with the management information that they request and to fulfil their reporting responsibilities to HMRC.

This would suit someone with a desire to further their education with a professional qualification whilst receiving relevant experience and on-the-job training within a top London practice. 

For candidates, excellent communications skills are a must, as are the personal skills necessary to work as a team member and maintain good relations with clients. It is expected that candidates will be able to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills.

This is a two year contract position.
 

Responsibilities

  • Undertake bookkeeping for clients using Quickbooks, Xero, Sage and Excel - this includes processing of sale and purchase invoices, reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card accounts and posting of petty cash records.
  • Completion of VAT returns, including reconciliation of the VAT account each period
  • Dealing with client queries
  • Setting up approved bank payments as requested ready for authorization
  • Preparation of management accounts including posting of the payroll journal and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Liaising with the accounts team when the client’s year end is ready to complete.
  • Posting of opening balance adjustments to agree the software to the statutory accounts.

  • Feedback from managers, senior managers and clients
  • Accurate completion of tasks in a timely fashion and within budget
  • Professional exam results
  • Annual measureable objectives agreed at the start of each year
  • Annual appraisal process and 6 monthly performance reviews

Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Strong GCSE results (minimum grade B in Maths and English)
  • Strong A levels (minimum of 300 UCAS points from your top 3 A Levels pre-2017 or 120 UCAS points in the 2017 sitting)
  • Support will be given to study for the AAT qualification
