2017 in Review

Debut stats show just how much we've grown in 2017

It’s been a huge year here at Debut. We’ve watched the app go from strength to strength and connected more students with employers than ever before.

We’ve launched a range of new innovative features to enhance the recruitment process for our members, and worked with our ever-expanding range of employers to find the right talent for their business.

We’ve been on a whirlwind of a journey, so we thought it was about time we take stock and look back on just how much we’ve achieved over the past twelve months.

Job opportunities viewed 577,033 times

This year we advertised 1,676 job opportunities on our app, including internships, placement years and graduate programmes. These were viewed by our members a whopping 577,033 times leading to nearly 100,000 applications.

It’s Debut’s goal to make the recruitment process as quick and efficient as possible, with our mobile-first approach and seamless in-app design, and the data shows our strategy is working. More students are swapping traditional recruitment methods for Debut, and this is only set to rise as we start to phase in our Instant Apply feature, allowing students to apply at the touch of a button.

Over one million Talent Spots sent

Time and again our users emphasise just how much they love Debut’s Talent Spot feature. Not only does our data-driven algorithm allow employers to better target students based on specific criteria, but our members also benefit from invitations to apply and fast-tracks through the recruitment process landing in their inbox without having to do a thing.

This year we sent over one million Talent Spots to our users, leading to over 20,000 opportunities being followed up and countless hires. Just take a look at some of our success stories from 2017.

200,000+ minutes of gaming

Games numbers

Games on Debut aren’t your typical arcade games. Ours test members on their cognitive strengths such as memory, reaction and numerical reasoning, and prizes include summer internships, experience day vouchers and Apple watches.

This year’s games went down a treat, with over 6,500 of our members playing for a whopping 219,097 minutes. Shaking up the recruitment process, games have proven a unique way for employers to interact with students and find those with top skills.

Over 1,000 questions asked directly to employers live via the app

DebutLive numbers

One of the most exciting developments this year was the launch of DebutLive, our unique livestreaming service designed to connect students all over the country with some of the UK’s top graduate employers. Since our launch back in May, we’ve carried out 17 livestreams and connected to nearly 5,000 users.

DebutLive not only allows student to hear from recruiters and graduates face-to-face but also to get their questions answered live. Over the course of this year’s livestreams, 1,428 questions were asked directly to employers, providing an invaluable insight into student priorities and gaps in marketing communication.
